“The most important thing for a woman is known to be loved”. And maybe a bit of Chanel? The film “The Return” by Karl Lagerfeld on the reopening of the Chanel Haute Couture house by Gabrielle Chanel after 15 years of absence in 1954 is finally here which is a follow up of the film “Once Upon A Time ” where we could follow Gabrielle Chanel’s early days in Deauville.
In the film Gabrielle Chanel, played by Geraldine Chaplin, says “Women dress for other women.[..] If men would disappear I don’t think women would make any effort.” Is there a point of truth in it? Do we just dress for other women? What do you think?
