You can’t have missed it. During Fashion Month and even thereafter you get bombarded with street style images. Street style photography has become a lucrative business, not just for the street style stars but also for the brands they wear.
The street style star with a large following can launch an item and start a trend. So it’s no surprise that some of them get paid for the clothes they wear. Sometimes even the street style photographers get paid to shoot certain influencers so that these pictures end up in publications (read more about it here).
But is street style photography “A trench warfare” as Phil Oh of Streetpeeper says in the film “Take My Picture” from Garage Magazine? Tim Blanks (fashion journalist) even asks “Is there some kind of use for the material that they [street photographers] are creating”?
