6 Tips For Successful Outlet Shopping

No need to empty your fashion fund if you’re looking for a new outfit. Simply go outlet shopping. It’s such great way to make the most of your money as discounts can be more than 70% off!

Off on a holiday? Don’t miss out on those  designer outlet centres abroad. The US, UK, France, Italy, The Netherlands and even Mallorca for example have some amazing outlet centres where you can shop brands such as Mulberry, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Valentino and lots more at greatly discounted prices. And no there isn’t a Chanel outlet anymore…(yes there used to be one!).

To get the most out of your visit here are 6 Tips For Successful Outlet Shopping.

1. Register for email/newsletter updates

The majority of outlet stores offer an opportunity to register for email/newsletter updates. Not only will you get updated when they have special promotions but some send you exclusive discount coupons too. Kaching!

2. Become a member of a designer outlet

The best, like Premium outlet centres (one of the biggest in the US), offer free membership. Once registered you can print store coupons offering additional discounts or free gifts with participating retailers. Other give advance warning on sales and other promotions, so it’s definitely worth to check whether the designer outlet you’re going to visit offers this service.

3. Visit the information centre when you arrive

The information centre often has booklets with special offers and extra discounts. Sometimes they may charge a small fee for a booklet, but it’s generally worth it as the discounts offered allow you to recoup that money quickly. Some outlets offer this (for free) to members only so register first.

4. Avoid the rush

Go early in the morning unless you don’t mind shopping when it’s packed. Also going early is the best time to catch those limited sale items which will be long gone later in the day.

5. Shop during sales

Although some outlet stores already offer discounts at up to 70% off, during sales there are further discounts on the outlet prices making your money go a lot further. But don’t worry if you can’t make the sales, most stores have special markdown corners all year round.

6. Do your homework

Check which stores you want to visit before you set off to an outlet centre, especially if you only have a few hours to spend, as outlet shopping always takes much longer than expected. Basically make a plan and don’t forget to check if there are special coupons for that particular store.
