Waking up numerous times in the middle of the night? Having difficulty falling asleep? You might benefit from these easy sleeping tips.
1. Keep your bedroom cool
Don’t turn your bedroom into a sauna, as most people sleep best in a room at 18° C. Also make sure your room has adequate ventilation.
2. Start doing relaxation exercises
Practice relaxation techniques. They help you to de-stress, calm the mind and to wind down.
3. Stock up on lavender oil
Dab a few drops of lavender oil on your wrists or apply it to your pillow, as lavender oil may result in improved sleep quality.
4. Check your mattress
When is the last time you checked your mattress? Do you remember when you bought it? Over the years your mattress will stop providing comfort and support which can result in a poor night’s sleep. Generally a good mattress is not older than 7-10 years. It may be time to replace your mattress.
5. Darken your bedroom
The darker your bedroom, the better you will sleep. Use heavy curtains or shades to block light, cover up your electrical displays or get yourself a sleep mask to cover your eyes.
