July in London is all about celebrating outdoors. It has some of the best music festivals, garden parties and along with some indoor cultural nuggets for when faced with the joys of British weather. But what to do? Here are 10 things to do in London in July.
1. BBC Proms
It is the 120th year of the Proms and the musical repertoire on offer from this July onwards continues to be remarkable and inspiring. Some of the best musicians, composers and artists will be preforming at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal College of Music. There are free events too. 2. Audrey Hepburn at the National Portrait Gallery
July sees the Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon exhibition coming to the National Portrait Galley (an amazing place to visit, exhibition or no exhibition). This must exhibition for all Audrey Hepburn fans will portray the life of the actress/icon as captured by leading photographers such as Cecil Beaton and Norman Parkinson. Ending 18 October 2015, there’s plenty of time to visit if you can’t make it in July.

3. Hampton court flowers
Be inspired by the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show celebrates its 25th year this year. The Festival of Roses marquee as well as themes zones –Grow, Feast and Inspire- promise to be a delight to the senses! Although technically not in London (it’s just a short train drive from London) it’s a worth see for everyone who loves gardens.

The New Look Wireless festival starts from the end of June and goes on till the first week in July and has an uber cool line-up including the likes of Drake, Rita Ora, Public Enemy etc.

And then there’s Lovebox for all music fans! From July 17th-18th, Victoria Park will be the site for a musical celebration that covers the best of British and international stars. Think of Snoop Dogg, Jessie Ware and many more.

6. Hyper Japan
If you love Japanese culture and offerings but are not able to get there, you must absolutely check out Hyper Japan, a celebration of all things Japanese. The shopping is pretty cool and there will be lots of kawaii things on offer too!

7. City of London Festival
And if all these festivals weren’t enough, you’ve got the City of London Festival – a celebration of all things multi-cultural and eclectic in London! First started in 1962, this events brings together and some of the best artists in the world.

8. Last chance to pop in to Spain via Estrella Galicia
Can’t make it to Spain this year? Sample all the good things Spain has the offer such as tapas at Rooftop Tapas Bar. The Spanish brewer Estrella Galicia has opened a pop-up Rooftop Tapas Bar near Broadway Market (at Netil House). Whilst the bar has been around since May, it is only around for a little while more. For fantastic food, drinks and views head to Netil House soon as! And Yoga fans shouldn’t miss the opportunity to follow a yoga class on the roof.

If you do miss the Estrella Gailica pop-up bar post early July, London’s more permanent fixture, Barrafina, won’t disappoint. If its peak time, you may need to wait around a little but often small spot appears where you can plonk a glass of red and much on olives while you wait for your own barstool to be allocated.
