1. London Fashion Week

If the great British weather is wearing you down, London Fashion Week’s SS16 offerings may be just the antidote for your weary spirits. Show tickets are not easy unless you are part of the fashion fraternity but you can hang out at Brewer Street Car Park and watch the circus (Suzy Menkes’s words no less) unfold. There are some fab exhibitions that are free to view and showcase some wonderful indie designers.

When? Till the 19-23rd February 2016
Where? Mainly in and around Brewer Street Car Park, Brewer Street, London W1F OLA (note: since last September London Fashion Week (‘LFW’) is now taking place at Brewer Street (and not Somerset House)) although individual show locations tend to vary. Check the London Fashion Week website for the schedule here.

Cupid’s Capsule at the London Eye

5. Cupid’s Capsule at the London Eye

I’m a bit low key when it comes to Valentine’s Day celebrations. However, if you fancy making a big impression and putting an impressive show, try hiring a private capsule at the London Eye. It’s not cheap but it certainly is indulgent and will no doubt impress your date!

When? January 16th to March 6th 2016
Where? The London Eye, Westminster Bridge Road, London, SE1 7PB.

A local Shrove Tuesday tradition, the Bankside locals practice their pancake tossing skills and get competitive with a pancake-flipping race! Whoever thought Londoners don’t know how to have fun without spending silly money – think again! The event also supports a number of local and national charities so one more reason to support it!

the Hoxton hotel

10. Staycation at The Hoxton

If all you want is a quite break and breakfast in bed but without having to break the bank, do what my friend did and book yourself into the Hoxton (both Shoreditch and Holborn are great) for a little staycation. The boutique hotels are in great locations so you could take yourself out for a walk, take in a matinee if you feel up to it or simply order room service all day! I love this wee hotel!

When? We suggest February but anytime works!
Where? The Hoxton Holborn or The Hoxton Shoreditch
