2. The Art of Banksy

One of the most famous graffiti artists of the world is Banksy. His work is exhibited in the Metropolitan in New York and the British Museum in London to name few and now over 80 pieces of his work are displayed in the Beurs van Berlage – the exhibition The Art of Banksy.

Want to find out who Banksy really is? Unfortunately, The Art of Banksy doesn’t give any answers. But nevertheless The Art of Banksy is worth seeing as pieces from private collections are also displayed.

Known for his work for amongst others Vogue magazine and his unique view of photography, Helmut Newton (1920-2004) has influenced and still influences photographers and other people all over the world. He worked with lots of famous people like Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. This exhibition is definitely a must see for photography and fashion lovers. It can be quite nerve raking for them because for some of them it is the first time on stage and before a real audience.

Unesco World Heritage weekend what to do in Amsterdam

9. Unesco World Heritage Weekend

The Unesco Work Heritage Weekend in June highlights the Dutch world heritage like for example the Amsterdam canals. During this weekend discover the stories about the Netherlands and the Dutch people on the basis of our World Heritage. The theme of this weekend is music.

In Amsterdam, there is a special programme. It starts with a performance of Dutch singer Ali B. After that you can join one of the walking, cycling or boat tours through Amsterdam.
