1. MONO Japan
This month Lloyd Hotel celebrates Japanese crafts, design and food culture with MONO Japan. MONO JAPAN is an artistic and cultural experience and a meeting point for cultures all in one. The event programme includes daily lectures by artists and experts and various hands-on workshops led by the makers. It offers a stage to acclaimed masters of traditional practices and the new generation of ambitious and enthusiastic creators, who fly in from Japan to present their work to the Dutch audience.

2. Chez Brood
Herman Brood, one of the most iconic Dutch musicians, was an artist, a creative spirit who refused to grow up. A well known celebrity in Amsterdam, you could run into him sitting on a terrace with a bird on his shoulder.
2016 Is the year he would have turned 70 years old if he had not taken his own life by jumping from the Hilton Hotel. Now there is Chez Brood, a musical portrait of this eccentric rock & roll legend.

Quality dealers from all over Europe bring their finest design pieces from the 1930s to the 1980s to Amsterdam for Design Icons. 6. Chinese New Year
Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy Chinese New Year! This year, Chinese New Year will fall on 8 February and there will be a big party for everyone! In Amsterdam, traditionally Chinese New Year is celebrated at the Nieuwmarkt and the Zeedijk with some festivities on the Dam Square as well. For the foodies under us, the story is that you can eat yourself happy, so try some yu sheng (raw fish salad) and fai-hai (seaweed)

Obviously, we never have enough clothes. However, sometimes there are items we haven’t worn for various reasons. And although we all like our money right where we can see it… hanging in our closet sometimes the best thing is to part with those items we haven’t worn and make some money out of them. And, of course, get some new items…..
For all of us who want to sell their clothing or want to buy new items for their closet head over to Fashion Vintage Live; the fashion market of the year (organised by Glamour magazine). For the buyer the place to be to find vintage discoveries for a nice price. There are full-length mirrors, heating (very important at this time of year) and coffee! The sellers are famous Dutch people, bloggers, stylists, fashion editors and other fashionista’s.
