1. Andy Warhol – Beurs van Berlage
Popart it is! The art flow of the early sixties with its many prints. Andy Warhol was very famous with his “Factory” in New York. But you can definitely not leave out Keith Haring. The Beurs van Berlage exhibits a private collection owned by Lex Harding of works of Warhol and other popartists.

Above you will find the new metro station, beneath an open air cinema! It’s the Bijlmerbios. Metro line 53 is riding above your head while you are sitting comfortly watching a movie at the Bijlmerbios. Raining? No worries the metro tracks will keep you dry. There will be short and longer movies displayed which symbolize the character of the neighborhood.

3. De Parade
De Parade is a travelling party of theatre, dance, mime and music acts. It starts in Rotterdam and after visiting the Hague and Utrecht, the tour ends in Amsterdam. The Martin Luther Kingpark transforms into an amusement park with tents, restaurants and a carousel.

4. Pluk De Nacht
Pluk De Nacht (seize the night) is an open-air film festival. How nice; it is free of entrance! The goals is, let as many people as possible enjoy movies that were not displayed in the Dutch cinema. You can watch the movies from your own beach chair.

5. Swan Lake
Swan Lake is probably one of the most famous ballet productions. Now there is an unique collaboration between the Shanghai Ballet and England’s top choreographer Derek Deane. They have created the greatest Swan Lake of the world. Don’t miss it in the Royal Theatre Carré.

6. Gay Pride
In August Amsterdam celebrates Gay Pride with a boat parade. It’s the showpiece of multiple festivities. 80 LGBT organizations get ready to show, in a festive manner, where they stand and fight for. Canals are loaded with boats and visitors are watching on the docks. Boats sail from Westerdok to Oosterdok. It is an colorful ensemble.

7. Silent Nigth Run
A unique experience; running through downtown Amsterdam in silence. Just running, doing some exercises, not talking to each other, just feeling the city and that at nighttime and in the dark. There is a warm welcoming at The Conservatorium Hotel.

The Uitmarkt is the opening of the Dutch cultural season. There are multiple free performances in downtown Amsterdam.
