On 6 July the highly anticipated Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition opens at the Tate Modern. With over 100 paintings portraying her famous magnified flowers, New Mexico desert landscapes and animal skulls, this exhibition features some of Georgia O’Keeffe’s important works. As no other work of Georgia O’Keeffe is displayed in any UK public collection this exhibition is a must see for any art lover. By the way did you know that the Georgia O’Keeffe’s famous painting ‘Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1’ is the most expensive painting by a female artist ever sold at auction? And yes, this painting is also exhibited. Ending 30 October there’s plenty of time to visit the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition if you can’t make it this month.

4. BBC Promes

Called the world’s greatest classical music festival, the BBC Proms starts this July. With 91 concerts over 58 days there’s plenty to chose from. Some of the best musicians, composers and artists will be preforming at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal College of Music. And no it’s not expensive. You can for example enjoy world-class performances for just £6 if you go promming.

In for a thrill? Head over to The Slide, the highest and longest (178m) tunnel slide in the world. Definitely not the faint hearted or the claustrophobic, but if you’re in for a ride take the 40-second trip down through loops and curves and end with a 50 meter straight run back down to earth!
